FO | Breidan Baby Rainbow

The baby version of Breidan is finished. The last few ends have been woven and it's been lightly blocked.

The rainbow color scheme features shades of dusty lavender, muted rose, butter yellow, mint green and slate blue in a reversible cable rib stitch. In the picture above you can see the ribbed back at the upper left and the cabled front in the lower right.

This project used five singletons (had just one in each color) plus a sixth color for seams and trim, which made it the ideal design for this cluster of orphans.

Breidan | Baby Rainbow

Yarn: Worsted/light worsted weight
Yarn Shown: Cotton Fleece (Brown Sheep)
Needles: US 7 (4.5 mm) and US 9 (5.5 mm)
Size: S (baby)

One of the many things I like about this version is its versatility. The design is inherently unisex and the muted rainbow shades hold a certain universal appeal that could suit a new mom and baby, toddler or young child as well as many teens and adults.

In my usual fashion, I fussed with color and stitch options, but once I finally figured out the particulars, this afghan moved forward at a satisfying pace.

So yes, as you've already deduced, there's another on the needles.
