The same is true with knitting. With the blue toned reversible Cable Rib afghan, I'm still finishing ... but not finished. Here's where things stand.
I've finished picking up stitches.
I've finished joining the strips.
I've finished admiring the interesting contrast between the front (cables) and back (rib).
Clearly it's time to buckle down and finish the finishing. There are some ends to weave, a task I always find daunting, but luckily with this pattern, there are comparatively few.
So that's where things stand. I'm still finishing, but not finished, a situation I need to quickly rectify. Because I can feel the urge to knit another one of these bubbling up in the background.
It's Wednesday, so don't forget to admire the lovely work featured at Tami's Amis, Small Things and Frontier Dreams.
I love the colors you chose and I love the cables. I've never attempted knitting in strips because I'm the world's worst finisher, but your joining of the strips looks neat and almost fun; I'll look forward to some finished photos!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you like it, Bonny. Actually, every part of this pattern - the cables, the joining, even the finishing - are all remarkably easy to do.
DeleteThe joining looks great! And yes, you need to finish. After all, isn't Finished Object Friday just around the corner?
ReplyDeleteThank you, how kind! And you're right, FO Friday is right around the corner. That's the problem. As slow as I am, it may be a week or two before all the finishing is finished.
DeleteFinishing is the hardest part for me.
ReplyDeleteMe, too!
DeleteGreat project. Keep going!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouragement, Babajeza.
