With the holidays on the horizon, I wanted to create a simple way to show my appreciation for your support and encouragement throughout the year. Here's how it works:

From now through the end of the holidays:

• Buy 1 pattern at the minimum full price ($5)
• Buy 2 or more: Save 15% on each additional purchase
• And yes, previous purchases apply!

That's it!

Rather than running an ever-changing series of sales, with BYOB you simply buy the patterns you want and need:

• Choose the patterns you like. 
• Tailor your bundle to your personal preferences. 
• Opt for the quantity that suits you, whether that's one, two or more.
• Buy patterns for yourself, send them as gifts or do both.

To understand how this might work for you, let's look at a few possible scenarios.

Example 1. A few months ago, you purchased Twegen ($6), and now you need a blanket for a baby on the way. The mom-to-be loves geometric lines and cheerful colors, so you think Flashpoint would be ideal. Click the Flashpoint "buy it now" button and you automatically receive the discount. (Your previous purchase qualifies you for the savings.)

(Your previous purchases make you eligible for the savings.)

Example 3. You've decided to take the plunge and purchase Color Check. Click the Color Check "buy it now" button and the checkout price will be 15% lower. It's your choice: You can buy a second pattern today and save 15% on the entire order, or you can come back later, buy another pattern and save 15% then. (As long as BYOB is in effect, your purchase qualifies you for the savings.)

Example 4. With the holidays on the horizon, you want to make a few fast and easy gifts. You're giving mugs to several friends and making Sweet Hearts & Soft Spot mug mats to go with them, but you know one owl-loving friend would really enjoy the Owl cloths. Scroll through the list, buy both patterns and you'll save 15% on the total.

I've tested numerous approaches, and so far BYOB: Build Your Own Bundle is the best way to offer you savings and keep things simple. It's also a very fair deal, if you don't mind me saying so. Many designers exclude previous purchases, set steep minimums, or require you to buy four or more patterns at the same time to qualify for even a small discount.

I can't speak for others, but my motivations are simple. The BYOB approach:

• Helps you save in a way that's meaningful for you. 
• Rewards those of you who are repeat or multiple buyers.
