FO | Whoooo is Watching

By now, you're fully aware of the fact that I'm on a bit of a spa and dish cloth binge. I love the fact that they're swatches and finished objects, all in one.

So what did I do with this realization? Instead of adding to my mountain collection of April Showers spa cloths, I made this whimsical owl dishcloth.
Mr. Owl, aka Whoooo, was fun, fast and easy  an amusing way to practice reversible mitered squares, something with which I'm experimenting. There are other FOs I could highlight, but since Mr. Owl never fails to make me smile, he deserves his moment in the spotlight.

Highlights

Yarn: Cotton Fleece (Brown Sheep)
Needles: US 8 (5 mm)
Ravelry notes: Here
Dimensions:  9 - 9.5 inches square
Buttons: From stash

The buttons mean this item isn't terribly functional, either as a dish cloth or hotpad. Nonetheless, I'm still rather enamored with him and there may (or may not) be more in the works.

Why? Mr. Owl follows everything with great interest but little commentary, a combination that's hard to find and difficult to resist. It's both amusing and comforting to know Whoooo is watching.

UPDATE
The Whimsy Owl Family pattern has been released.
