Would You Like Cables with That?

You may have noticed I have a slight fascination with the reversible cable rib stitch. Lately, it’s been my go-to stitch for just about everything, from dish and spa cloths to scarves and baby blankets.

What’s not to love? The stitch is easy, reversible and quite versatile, which may explain why I’ve not yet grown tired of it. (I can’t deny it. Sometimes, I have a supremely simple mind.)

Here’s the round up:

As the Breidan baby blanket moves ever so slowly to the point of completion, I find myself fantasizing about the next one. Why? It appears I’m determined to knit through the entire stash one small square or skinny strip at a time.

This is my current sticking point: Should I reprise the Color Check afghan? Or, should I do another Breidan cabled blanket (and build on what I learned doing the first one)?

One way or another, there will be another afghan on the needles soon. So, the real question is: Would you like cables with that?

  1. First I thought, definitely do the Swafghan. Then I thought, no, cables, do the cables.

    So maybe ... both?

    1. Troublemaker! But now that you've mentioned it, it's not out of the realm of possibilities ...

    2. You're right, I am a troublemaker! But I figured, it doesn't hurt to ask, right?

  2. I'd like to see the pattern but I'll advice that you do whatever you enjoys the most.

    1. Thanks for sharing your preferences, Jazz. I particularly like the part where you recommend doing what is most enjoyable right now. Good advice!
